I wander about our technology-laden world and talk to business owners of all types. Some people get it but most do not. I hear questions like:

- How can I guarantee that my website make money for my business?
- What's the exact ROI of Facebook or Twitter, anyway?
- How can we be sure that that a new service or product will be successful?

These are precisely the wrong questions to ask.

## Simon Says

Throw caution into the wind? Not really, but stop looking for certainty in the Age of the Platform. It doesn't exist. For every business that launches a Facebook fan page and sees immediate results, many more do not.

Embrace intelligent risk and uncertainty. It's here to stay.
