It has been fascinating to watch [the popularization of icons in web design](https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/03/how-to-use-icons-to-support-content-in-web-design/?ref=philsimon.com) over the last decade or so. On a personal level, I'm finding all sorts of ways to incorporate them into my sites.

Against that backdrop, here's an insanely oversimplified version of our work lives before and after COVID-19.
