The Library as a Platform
If you don't get the little p's right, you can forget about the Big P.
I've written before about platforms and libraries. Tomorrow I get to talk more about this as I give the keynote speech at an OCLC conference. Lest you think that libraries aren't doing anything innovative, check out the OCLC WorldShareβ’ Platform, a means to "help libraries, developers and partners operate at Webscale and innovate collectively."

Bottom line: Organizations of all types need to get the little p's right (technology, data) before they can truly unleash the power of the Big P (the platform as a business model).
