A few of the ways that I try to make learning as active as possible.
A core tenet of my teaching philosophy is active learning. (Experiential learning is also up there.) I strongly prefer that students understand a key concept on their ownβas opposed to my telling it to them. (Cue Benjamin Franklin quote.) In this post, I'm going to explain three of my favorite in-class exercises and why they work.
