Anyone catch this the other day? Apple put the old version of Final Cut Pro back on sale.
The backlash against the new version of the company’s video editing software has bee pretty substantial.
The lessons here in terms of building a platform:
- Don’t be afraid to admit mistakes. Imagine how many customers Apple just saved from looking at alternatives to Final Cut Pro?
- Don’t argue with your users and customers. Listen to them.
How much would you like to bet that Apple just saved a bunch of customers by reversing course?
In the Age of the Platform, you have to be prepared to take a step back.
