The backlash against the new version of the company’s video editing software has bee pretty substantial.

The lessons here in terms of building a platform:

• Don’t be afraid to admit mistakes. Imagine how many customers Apple just saved from looking at alternatives to Final Cut Pro?
• Don’t argue with your users and customers. Listen to them.

How much would you like to bet that Apple just saved a bunch of customers by reversing course?
