I am very pleased to announce the publication of my fourth book, The Old Big: Reasonably Interesting Parables from Mediocre Companies.

I wanted to write a book representing a radical departure from The New Small. I am very happy with the results and I hope that you buy 1,000 copies to use as coasters, weapons for domestic disputes, and stairs for small dogs and other furry animals.

Yeah, it’s a joke.

    Phil,
This is great news. The business world has been crying out for a shift towards the old ways of working. Can’t wait to read my copy!! Do you have it available in microfiche format?

    Good Afternoon Phil,
You truly have your finger on the pulse of the IT world – your book is a bellwether of a remarkable and long overdue course correction. Until now I have been searching in vain for some metrics to build a business case for my back-to-basics approach to world class customer service – decentralized processing and the return of all custom, home-grown systems. Your book is key to helping me communicate the business value that can only be realized when seasoned COBOL programmers are given free rein to bring their business acumen to bear at the intersection of mainframe processing and social networking.
    John
